Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa (SLUK), has rejected the Jigawa State Government’s latest offer on issues affecting the institution and its academic staff, insisting on its planned two-week warning strike from midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, unless the government meaningfully addresses its demands.
PUNCH Online gathered that the position was reached by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa Branch, at its 54th Regular Congress Meeting held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Lecture Theatre One of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences.
Disclosing the resolutions in a statement jointly signed by the ASUU-SLUK Branch Chairman, Comrade Idris Chiromawa, and the Secretary, Comrade Salisu Yunusa, and made available to journalists in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, on Tuesday, the union said that if the Jigawa State Government failed to meaningfully address the outstanding issues within the two-week ultimatum, it would proceed with the planned warning strike.
The statement said the congress considered a report on the recently concluded ASUU Emergency National Executive Council meeting held at the Comrade Festus Iyayi National Secretariat Complex, University of Abuja.
