…warns continued delay will trigger crisis in Oyo, Kwara varsities

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ibadan Zone, has appealed to the Governors of Oyo and Kwara States, Seyi Makinde and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, to commence the full implementation of the signed 2025 Federal Government-ASUU Agreement in their respective state-owned universities from July 2026.
The union warned that any further delay in implementing the agreement would inevitably plunge the affected institutions into a major industrial crisis, stressing that its members have already commenced mobilisation for an indefinite strike.
The appeal was made on Tuesday during a meeting of the ASUU Ibadan Zone, held at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education (EAUE), Oyo.
