Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur, has further strengthened its commitment to wildlife education and conservation awareness by opening a remodelled Zoo Interpretation Centre (Zootorium), exclusively for school groups.The upgraded facility combines innovative technology, interactive learning models, and creative interpretation techniques to provide a modern and engaging learning experience for the present generation of children, according to a press release.The Zootorium reception has been creatively designed on a Western Ghats theme. It features a range of advanced technology-based interactive interpretation models designed to make learning about wildlife more interesting, experiential, and child-friendly. Instead of conventional display panels, students can explore concepts through interactive models and digital learning experiences.One of the key attractions is an interactive multiplication table with holographic technology to help students understand important ecological concepts such as the food chain, food web, prey and predator relationships, through an engaging learning approach.The centre also features an interactive zoo layout, with the locations of animals marked on the map. The facility includes two innovative selfie points. A unique interactive paw-mark feature enables children to step on animal paw marks, triggering information about the respective animal.Around 500 kg of discarded rubber tyres have been creatively reused to construct animal models at the centre.
