A 25-year-old man was killed and his wife injured after a BMTC bus allegedly rammed their two-wheeler from behind near Urs Colony, within the Nelamangala Traffic Police limits, on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Manu, a resident of Nelamangala town and a native of Sira in Tumakuru district. He was working as a restaurant manager and had got married just eight months ago.According to the police, the accident occurred around 4.30 p.m. when Manu was riding the two-wheeler with his wife as the pillion rider on Urs Colony Road. The BMTC bus allegedly hit the two-wheeler from behind, throwing the couple onto the road.Manu fell to the left side of the road and came under the wheels of the bus. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. His wife escaped with minor injuries. The police shifted the body for a post-mortem examination. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the accident.A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
