Three members of a family, including a two-year-old child, were killed, and another child seriously injured, after a BMTC bus allegedly rammed their motorcycle near Sulibele in Hoskote taluk on Friday (June 19).The deceased have been identified as Arun, 35, his wife Anusha, 32, and their two-year-old daughter Hanya, all residents of Tellahalli village in Devanahalli taluk. The family was travelling on a motorcycle when the accident occurred on the Hoskote–Devanahalli road. Their five-year-old daughter, Anushika, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.According to the police, the BMTC bus allegedly hit the motorcycle while travelling on the route, resulting in the deaths of the couple and their younger child on the spot. The impact of the collision caused traffic congestion on the busy stretch for several hours.A case has been registered at the Sulibele Police Station, and an investigation is under way.Speaking to the media, Deputy Police Superintendent Mallesh said the preliminary inquiry suggests that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the BMTC bus driver. He also pointed out that several lorries were parked along the roadside in the area, which may have contributed to the mishap.Authorities have since cleared the parked vehicles and warned transport operators against parking lorries on the roadside, particularly near warehouse zones, to prevent similar accidents in the future.
