Two persons were killed and three others were injured in an accident at Kadirenahalli in Banashankari on Thursday.The deceased has been identified as Uday Kumar, 63, a resident of Kadirenahalli and Selvakumar, 52, a resident of Dwarakanagar. The injured have been identified as Kumar, Vasanta and Ramamurthy.A minibus carrying techies lost control near the Bendre Junction and rammed three scooters and two bikes at around 8.40 p.m. Uday Kumar and Selvakumar, riding separate two-wheelers, were killed on the spot. Another motorcyclist, Kumar, and two pedestrians, Ramamurthy and Vasanta, were injured in the accident and were rushed to a hospital, where they are recovering.The minibus driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the scene.Later, the Banashankari Traffic Police tracked him down to his house in Laggere and arrested the driver, identified as Nagaraj. Probe is under way as to what had led to the accident, whether the driver was overspeeding or whether the vehicle had any technical fault. Published - May 29, 2026 08:17 pm IST
