A 61-year-old man, who was riding a two-wheeler, was killed after being knocked down by a BMTC bus on Madhure Road in the limits of the Chikkabanavara Traffic Police Station on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Nagaraju, a resident of Basaveshwar Nagar, who was running a Nandini Milk Parlour.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 10.45 a.m. when Nagaraju was riding towards his daughter’s house in Kannamangala. Near Madhure Road in Hessarghatta, a BMTC bus heading towards Yelahanka allegedly hit his bike.
Nagaraju sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The police have registered a case and issued a notice to the bus driver. Further investigation is under way, the police said.
