Avril and Eleanor had reunited on Long Lost Family and they appeared in the ITV studio together to share their remarkable yet heartbreaking story.Avril was only 15-years-old when she became pregnant, her mum then shipped her off to a mother and baby home in Carlisle, where she gave birth to a baby girl she called Michelle.At only eight-weeks-old, Avril gave Michelle up for adoption and she was renamed Eleanor. Now aged 77-years-old, Avril sought the help of Long Lost Family's Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell to find her daughter, where she was emotionally reunited after 60 years apart.On Wednesday's This Morning, an emotional clip from the show played, where it left host Christine fighting back tears as Avril also broke down in tears in the studio.In the clip, Avril says of finding her daughter: "I've always wanted to find her, always, always, and I just thought maybe this is time now to have one last try."Avril wanted her daughter to know: "Just that I've never stopped loving her, because I never, ever in a lifetime wanted her to think I didn't love her and I didn't want to keep her, because I did, and I still do, with all my heart." Avril then learnt that her long lost daughter was "really well" and wanted to meet her birth mother.Talking on This Morning, Avril said of watching the clip back: "Upsetting, but very emotional and happy." The guest recalled of when she had to give away her daughter aged just 15: "I just remember being in the hall, living in the hall, looking after Eleanor for eight weeks and then forced to part with her."Avril decided to meet with Eleanor's adoptive parents, which wasn't typically done, but she wanted to see who was going to take and look after her daughter.She said: "I didn't have any other choice at the time. I was glad I met them because they were nice people, and I knew they were going to give her a nice life that I couldn't give her." The adoptive parents were upset with the situation themselves because they could see how hurt Avril was.Avril only received a baby photo of her daughter when she was in her 40s and she had kept it by her bed ever since. Avril admitted she found it "really difficult" to get on with life, adding: "I never came to terms with it, never, ever", feeling like she was in a dream and lost.Avril said she got in touch with Long Lost Family as a last attempt as she had tried a few times over the years to find her daughter. She said: "I don't watch the programme because it's too upsetting, because I was told on more than one occasion I would never be able to find my Michelle and that she would have been issued with a new birth certificate, so I would never, never ever be able to find her."So I don't watch the show because it's too upsetting for me, because I think they can find everybody but my child. Anyway, I had just switched the television over one night, and I caught the end of it."So I'd spoke to my daughter, my other daughter, Sharon, and Sharon said, 'It's a good time, you know.' I said, 'well, I'm running out of time, so it's probably the last chance I'll get to look for her.' So I sent an email and from there, it just rollercoasted."The two guests praised the Long Lost Family team for their incredible support and reuniting them. Eleanor acknowledged how difficult it must have been for her birth mother, adding that she had a really good childhood with her adoptive parents and they would talk about Avril, especially how upset she had been giving her up for adoption.Asked how it was meeting for the first time and if they had an instant bond, Avril sweetly said: "Yeah, she was back in my arms where she belongs." This made hosts Christine and Craig teary as they exclaimed: "Oh wow, you're going to make us all go, don't!"This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX.
