But while speaking about Coronation Street, the soap insider shared some happy news.‌She said: "And congratulations to Jack P. Shepherd and his wife, Hanni, who had a little girl, Constance! Lovely, congratulations to you two."‌An image of the baby's hand, which was shared on Jack's Instagram, was also shown on This Morning.Jack, who plays David Platt in Corrie, took to social media to reveal that his newborn daughter was born at home on 26th June 2026.‌He wrote: "Constance Ita Shepherd. Our beautiful baby girl has arrived, born peacefully at home, surrounded by love. 26.6.26."Jack's friends, co-stars and fans were quick to comment, with Sally Dynevor commenting: "Oh wonderful so happy for you, what a beautiful name. ITV also confirmed that Jack will be stepping away from the soap briefly for a "couple of weeks' paternity leave".‌In recent storylines, David has found himself at the centre of turmoil caused by his newly-discovered sister-in-law, Jodie Ramsey. Intent on taking revenge against her sister Shona Platt, Jodie has been determined to tear apart every aspect of Shona's life, with David and their marriage becoming key targets. At the same time, David has been supporting his older brother, Nick Tilsley, as the family comes to terms with Sam Blakeman's mental health crisis. Following Sam's sectioning, Nick has also been left grappling with the possibility that his son may be living with schizophrenia and psychosis, placing even more emotional strain on the family.Article continues belowThis Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
