Eleanor Tomlinson appeared on ITV's This Morning and opened up on juggling her life as a new mum with work ahead of the gripping drama airing11:50, 02 Jun 2026Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson has opened up about life as a new mum during an appearance on This Morning.‌The Forsytes actress is now starring in a gripping new for Channel 5, The Fortune.‌It follows Eleanor as a woman with a seemingly perfect life unravelling when she inherits a mysterious fortune.‌While juggling the role alongside Harry Potter actor Matthew Lewis, and an “exciting” upcoming drama in Leeds, Eleanor is living a busy life away from screens, having welcomed her child one year ago.The star married rugby player Will Owen in 2022, and shared the news of their pregnancy in October 2024.‌Last year, on Valentine’s Day, Eleanor took to social media to confirm that she had welcomed their first child, sharing an image of a newborn’s adorable hand clasped in hers and Will’s.She’s now shared an update, telling This Morning hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley : “[Being a mum] is the best thing to ever happen to me, it’s incredible.”She added: “I’m chasing around, projectile vomit, it’s a joy… no, it’s great, I’m running around like a headless chicken and moving everything up and cupboard locks and the works, it’s a treat.”‌When asked how her life as a mum fit in with her work, she replied: “I’m so lucky, I’ve got such a supportive network, particularly on this job, The Fortune, the production company were so amazing about helping a woman go back to work after having a baby, and I couldn’t sing their praises highly enough.“I was so supported. My family came too, the husband, baby, grandparents were drafted in too, going ‘we need help!’ It takes a village, it’s crazy, but I feel very lucky to have that network.”‌Elsewhere on the programme, Eleanor addressed her appearance, revealing that her hair wasn’t naturally red.She explained: “I’m naturally a blonde!” Sparking of her Poldark character, she went on: “I felt that Demelza should be a redhead.”‌She added that during the Aidan Turner series, she wore a wig, with only a few wisps from the front of her head being her natural hair.“When people see me, they think I’ve got this massive hair tied up, but really, it’s just post-partum tufts!”“I feel completely bamboozled,” Cat quipped back.Article continues belowThis Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
