The School Education department has placed the headmaster-in-charge of Nadar Saraswathy Higher Secondary School (government-aided), Usilampatti, Madurai, K. Paramasivam, under suspension.According to the proceedings issued by the District Educational Officer, an enquiry into “grave charges” against him are contemplated. Paramasivam is under suspension from service for his Administrative Inefficiency and the reasons for such suspension cannot not be furnished in the larger public interest,” the order stated.According to sources in the department, he was suspended as he had allegedly discarded materials from the government’s free kit instead of surrendering them.He is suspended under the sub rule (e) of rule 17 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Disciplinary and Appeal) Rules. Paramasivam will be paid subsistence Allowance and Dearness Allowance and shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the prior permission of the competent authority, the order further stated.
