A 51-year-old Turkish national was arrested on Tuesday morning in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, following an active Interpol red notice issued by Turkish authorities.
The man was convicted to more than 12 years in jail by a Turkish court for fraud and drug-related charges.
Officers also found that the suspect had no legal permit to stay in the country.
He is expected to be brought before a competent prosecutor who will begin the procedures for his extradition to Turkey.
