This year’s SAC and EDOC summer excursion took us to Campus Biotech in Geneva. From groundbreaking projects and stunning architecture to engaging conversations with doctoral candidates, the visit was a memorable journey into a thriving hub of innovation.Home to several EPFL centers and laboratories, Campus Biotech brings together researchers and collaborators working at the forefront of neuroscience, neuroengineering, neurotechnology, artificial intelligence, and global health.Our visit began with a guided tour of the campus led by Danielle Desravines, Operational Director, who shared the site's history and development. We then discovered the multiple facets of activities and collaborative projects of Neuro X Institute through a presentation by its Deputy Director, Niels Lion.A highlight of the day was the visit to three research laboratories:INL – Integrated Neurotechnologies Laboratory, led by Prof. Mahsa ShoaranLSBI – Laboratory for Soft Bioelectronic Interfaces, led by Prof. Stéphanie LacourMIP:Lab – Medical Image Processing Laboratory, led by Prof. Dimitri Van De VilleThe visits gave us the opportunity to learn more about the exciting research currently being carried out by our PhD candidates and the impact of their research.We then traded science for sport with a friendly mini-golf tournament and some lively team competition – revealing a few hidden golfing talents along the way!We are sincerely grateful to the entire Campus Biotech team for their warm welcome and hospitality. Special thanks to doctoral candidates Flavia Petruso, Scott Erickson, and Amitabh Yadav for welcoming us into their laboratories and sharing their work through insightful discussions.And, of course, a huge thank-you to Stéphanie and Nathalie for the flawless organization.
