Twelve people were killed and over 20 others injured, including children, as Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region early Tuesday, marking the sixth consecutive day of strikes on the area. Eight people were killed and ten injured in the Ukrainian capital, including three children, according to city authorities.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. “Kyiv region came under a massive attack by Russian missiles and strike drones tonight,” Kyiv regional military administration chief Tymur Tkachenko said on Telegram. Kyiv Post reporters heard around a dozen loud explosions and saw flashes in the sky late Monday, moments after Ukraine’s Air Force warned of incoming ballistic missiles, and early Tuesday morning. The Air Force reported a “high-speed target toward Kyiv,” followed by warnings of several targets heading toward the capital, missiles approaching from the south and jet-powered drones moving in from the east. The Air Force later warned that the threat of “ballistic weapons and other means of attack against Kyiv and the region remains in effect” and urged residents to remain in shelters. According to updated Kyiv city military administration (KMVA) data, civilian infrastructure was damaged in five districts of Kyiv: Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Sviatoshynskyi and Solomianskyi. In the Darnytskyi district, fires broke out at two locations following the strikes. Seven people were killed there, while another person remains in serious condition in hospital. The fires have since been extinguished.
