CEO Hubject
Christian Hahn has been instrumental in building Hubject since its founding in 2012 and has served as CEO of the Berlin-based company since January 2015. He is one of the leading thinkers in electric mobility and has established the annual electric mobility charging conference ICNC in Berlin as one of the most important meeting points for the charging industry.
When the charging infrastructure industry gathers at the intercharge network conference (ICNC26) at Berlin-Tempelhof Airport in early September, the focus will be on far more than simply expanding the number of charging points. Charge point operators (CPOs), eMobility service providers, car manufacturers, energy suppliers, and hardware and software providers will discuss how to transform the growing infrastructure into an intelligent, interconnected, and economically viable system. Around 10,000 participants are expected at this year’s event.
One individual who has witnessed this development since the early pioneering years of electromobility is Christian Hahn. He joined Hubject in 2012 and has served as CEO of the Berlin-based company since 2015. Ahead of ICNC26, we spoke with him about why open standards and interoperability are critical for smart charging, why he sees fleets and commercial depots as the frontrunners in bidirectional charging, and why the ramp-up of electric trucks is placing new demands on roaming, reservations, and predictable charging.
