NDRRMC: 8.4 million people affected by monsoon, cyclones

MANILA, Philippines — Around 8.4 million individuals have been affected by the southwest monsoon and recent cyclones Luis, Maymay, and Neneng, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday.

In its latest update as of 6 p.m., the NDRRMC said the weather systems affected 8.4 million individuals, or 2.4 million families, in the National Capital Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
