CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Heavy rains caused flooding that rendered parts of major roads in Bulacan, including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and MacArthur Highway, impassable to some vehicles, the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said Sunday.

Manuel Lukban Jr., head of the Bulacan PDRRMO, said the road conditions were based on an 11 a.m. Sunday assessment.

In Meycauayan City, all northbound and southbound lanes of NLEX in Barangay Libtong became impassable around 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, due to knee-deep floodwaters. The water began rising at 10:20 a.m. and subsided at 3:05 a.m. Sunday.

Several roads in Meycauayan were also inaccessible, including portions of MacArthur Highway in Barangay Calvario and roads in Barangays Saluysoy, Pandayan, Banga, Hulo, Bangcal, and Bayugo.
