Bidar Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti has ordered the externment of two rowdies said to be involved in matka betting, gambling and sale of ganja. The externment comes as they are considered a threat to public peace and law and order in the district.The externed rowdies have been identified as Angada Harinath Kamble, a resident of a village under the jurisdiction of Manthal Police in Basavakalyan taluk, and M.D. Sharief Miyan, a resident of Humnabad taluk in Bidar.According to the police, Kamble has been externed to Raichur district, while Sharief Miyan has been externed to Kolar district.The police said that Kamble has been collecting money from people in villages and operating matka betting and gambling activities.The police said that daily wages workers and small traders, hoping to make quick money, have lost their earnings in these gambling activities. Despite 11 cases being registered against him, Kamble continued his illegal activities, the police said.The police said that his externment from Bidar to Raichur has been ordered in the interest of maintaining law and order.Sharief Miyan, a resident within the jurisdiction of Humnabad Police, is involved in illegal transportation and sale of ganja in Humnabad and Bhalki taluks, the police said.His illegal activities affects the health of young people and students and poses a threat to the district’s social well-being.Though five cases have been registered against him, he continued his illegal activities, the police said.He has been externed from Bidar to Kolar district.Mr. Gunti said that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in unlawful activities and those disrupting law and order in the district.
