Udupi Superintendent of Police (SP) Hariram Shankar on Saturday ordered the externment of Ramraj, 48, an accused in five gambling cases, from Udupi district to Chikkamagaluru district.In a press note, Mr. Shankar said he exercised his powers as the Special Executive Magistrate to extern Ramraj, a resident of Shivalli village in Udupi taluk, to the limits of Chikkamagaluru Town police station.Ramraj was accused in five gambling cases and was been convicted in four of them. As his activities were likely to disturb peace and tranquillity, he was externed to Chikkamagaluru, the SP said. Published - July 18, 2026 07:42 pm IST
