The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 13 Police Headquarters, Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, AIG Miller Dantawaye, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Ama, to ensure that all personnel maintain the highest level of professionalism, neutrality and impartiality during the state’s local government elections scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow).
The AIG stressed that all police personnel deployed for the elections must remain strictly apolitical and non-partisan and discharge their duties in accordance with the law, professional ethics and the directives of the Nigeria Police Force.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 13, ASP Chidera Oha, said the AIG warned officers and men against openly or covertly identifying with, supporting or assisting any political party, candidate or interest group before, during or after the elections.
The Zone 13 Police Command is in charge of Anambra and Enugu states.
