The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 3 Headquarters, Yola, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran has warned officers under his command against negligence, indiscipline, and unprofessional conduct, insisting that discipline, accountability, and commitment remain the foundation of effective policing.

The AIG gave the warning on Wednesday during a lecture session with personnel in Yola, where he stressed the need for professionalism, punctuality, physical fitness, and strict adherence to human rights in the discharge of police duties.

In a statement delivered during the session, AIG Adeniran said discipline remained a core requirement for restoring public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.

“Discipline, dedication, and commitment are the bedrock of effective policing, and without these core values being taken seriously at all levels of command and operations, it will be very difficult for us to achieve meaningful results or restore the confidence of the public in the Nigeria Police Force,” he said.

Adeniran, who also cautioned that poor attitude to duty, including lateness, negligence, and absenteeism, would not be tolerated, warned that such behaviours undermine operational effectiveness and damage the image of the Force.
