The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (APJAC) Amaravati has announced a phased agitation programme from August 31, demanding that the State government resolve 29 pending issues concerning government employees, including appointment of a new Pay Revision Commission, declaration of Interim Relief, release of pending Dearness Allowance, and settlement of long-pending financial dues.The decision was taken at a State-level conference of the APJAC Amaravati here on Friday.APJAC Amaravati chairman Boppuraju Venkateswarlu said employees had repeatedly submitted representations and held discussions with the government, but alleged that there had been delays in resolving their issues.The agitation programme had been finalised after consultations with the district-level leadership across the State. “The State leadership will implement the decisions taken democratically by the district units,” he said, adding that the organisation was prepared to intensify its struggle if the demands remained unresolved.The employees were also seeking transparency on outstanding dues in individual salary slips.The protests would be organised in three phases. The first phase would begin on August 31, with employees meeting District Collectors and submitting notices on their demands. They would change mobile display pictures on September 1, wear black badges from September 1 to 5, hold outreach programmes and lunch-hour protests, and organise district-level round-table meetings on September 11.The second phase, from September 15 to 26, would include Work-to-Rule, meetings with elected representatives, human chains, dharnas at Collectorates and RDO offices, and protests involving family members.
