Andhra Pradesh JAC Amaravati leaders invited the leadership of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association and the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Employees’ Association on Tuesday to attend a State-level conference to be held in Vijayawada on August 28. They called for united agitations to press for the long-pending demands of employees, teachers, and pensioners.A delegation led by AP JAC Amaravati chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu met APNGOs Association State president and AP JAC chairman A. Vidyasagar and general secretary Ramana at the APNGO Bhavan here. The delegation urged the two organisations to join hands with AP JAC Amaravati in launching a united struggle, particularly on issues relating to the financial benefits of employees, teachers and pensioners.Mr. Venkateswarlu said the organisation had already decided on an agitation programme as the government had failed to respond to several long-pending demands over the past two years. He said the employee associations were traditionally consulted by governments and decisions were announced soon after discussions. However, the present coalition government held discussions with employee associations on July 22, but had not announced any decisions even after more than a month, he said, describing the delay as “painful”.He said ordinary employees wanted the two JACs to come together, as in the past, and launch a united movement to safeguard their interests. AP JAC Amaravati secretary-general Palishetti Damodara Rao also appealed to the APNGOs leadership to join the proposed united agitation.Responding to the appeal, Mr. Vidyasagar said the AP JAC State executive meeting had been scheduled for September 3 and a decision on the issue would be taken at the meeting and communicated to AP JAC Amaravati.The AP JAC Amaravati leaders also contacted Secretariat Employees’ Association president Ramakrishna over the phone, as he was unavailable in person, and invited him to attend the August 28 conference and participate in the proposed united employees’ movement.AP JAC Amaravati leaders T.V.
