The AP JAC Amaravati, NTR district unit, has called upon government employees to be prepared for an agitation to secure their long-pending service and financial demands, including the immediate appointment of the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner and the announcement of Interim Relief (IR).As part of a statewide awareness campaign launched by the AP JAC Amaravati leadership, district leaders have been visiting government offices to mobilise employees and explain the need for a united movement to press for their demands. In this connection, a meeting was held at the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Vehicle Depot on Thursday under the leadership of district executive member D. Venkateswara Rao.Addressing the gathering, AP JAC Amaravati NTR district chairman Battina Ramakrishna urged the State government to appoint the 12th PRC Commissioner without delay and announce Interim Relief for employees. He also demanded the release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears and leave encashment dues, besides implementation of a five-day work week for government employees.State treasurer Thimmasarthi Nageswara Rao called for the release of the additional quantum of pension to retired employees and sought the extension of two years of child care leave for women employees on a par with Central government staff.Speaking on the occasion, D. Venkateswara Rao demanded resolution of issues faced by contract and outsourcing employees and reiterated the demand for the abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
