The Andhra Pradesh government should immediately appoint the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) Commissioner and announce Interim Relief (IR) for government employees, AP JAC Amaravati has demanded, citing rising living costs and delays in pay revision. The demand was made at the extended State executive committee meeting of the JAC held at Revenue Bhavan in Vijayawada on Sunday. State executive members, leaders of various employees’ associations, district JAC representatives and women’s wing office-bearers from across the State attended the meeting.Addressing the gathering, AP JAC Amaravati Chairman Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said employees had been waiting for the government to act on PRC-related issues. He pointed out that the previous PRC Commissioner resigned in June 2024 and no replacement has been appointed since then.Mr. Venkateswarlu said the delay had deprived employees of benefits due from July 1, 2023. The meeting adopted a series of resolutions seeking immediate appointment of the 12th PRC Commissioner, announcement of Interim Relief, implementation of promises made to government, contract and outsourcing employees, restoration of enhanced pension benefits and release of pending Dearness Allowance arrears. The JAC also demanded full implementation of the Employees Health Scheme and extension of Child Care Leave for women employees to two years on par with Central government employees. It expressed support for APSRTC employees opposing the private operation of electric buses and sought consideration of a five-day work week or work-from-home option on Saturdays.Secretary-General Palisetti Damodar Rao said rising prices had increased the financial burden on employees. He called for immediate pay revision, payment of surrender leave dues and disclosure of pending PRC and DA arrears in employees’ pay slips, along with a clear roadmap for their settlement. The JAC leadership said employees would be compelled to launch agitation programmes if the government failed to address their demands.
