King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch at the age of three, has died at 34.

His death was announced by Tooro Kingdom Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki on Friday.

The cause of death was not immediately disclosed by the kingdom.

However, local media quoted a Ugandan government minister as saying the king had been critically ill and had travelled to the United States for medical treatment.
