According to information obtained by IranWire, the case of Reza Zanganeh, a 27-year-old resident of Malard accused of “Moharebeh” (enmity against God) in Karaj, has been forwarded to the Supreme Court for appeal. If confirmed, a death sentence will be issued against him.

IranWire’s findings indicate that Reza Zanganeh returned to Karaj from Malayer on April 2, 2026, and was arrested the following day, April 3, after opening his shop, when security officers raided the premises.

Several local shopkeepers witnessed his arrest and informed his family.

Reza Zanganeh has been incarcerated in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj during this period; however, due to intense pressure on those close to him, details regarding his case were not made public.

The 27-year-old is a foreign auto repair technician. Although he was assigned a court-appointed public defender from the outset, his family subsequently retained an independent defense attorney to represent him during judicial proceedings.
