Over the years of handling appeals from veterans, female veterans, and their family members, not a single official has been held accountable for violating their rights.
Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said this during the presentation of the Special Report "On the State of Implementation of Veterans' Policy in Ukraine," according to Ukrinform, citing Hromadske.
"We raise this issue year after year, but so far we have still not proposed a system for holding accountable a specific official who has violated the rights of a veteran, female veteran, or their family members," Lubinets said.
According to the Ombudsman, his Office has repeatedly identified specific officials whose actions resulted in violations of veterans' rights and has appealed to the leadership of ministries and military units, asking them to impose disciplinary measures.
