Twenty-three Ukrainians have returned home from the temporarily occupied territories—including elderly people, citizens with limited mobility, Ukrainians with health issues, and families with children.
According to Ukrinform, Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament’s Commissioner for Human Rights, reported this on Facebook.
“Over the past two weeks, with the assistance of the Ombudsman’s Office, we have managed to bring 23 Ukrainian citizens home, and just yesterday we evacuated a large group of Ukrainians—16 people. These include elderly people, citizens with limited mobility, Ukrainians with health issues, and families with children. And each of them required their own route, their own documents, their own solutions, and their own assistance,” the statement reads.
Lubinets expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross, with whom the evacuation was coordinated, and Caritas Ukraine.
“Overall, the oldest person we’ve brought back so far is 88 years old. The youngest is 11 years old. He is a boy with diabetes who requires constant insulin therapy. We managed to organize the return of the child and his family, and we also ensured that the necessary insulin was prepared in advance so that the difficult journey would not lead to a deterioration in the child’s health,” Lubinets reported.
