According to information obtained by IranWire, Elham Khalas, a Baha’i citizen residing in Isfahan, was arrested in recent days and transferred to Dowlatabad Prison.
The Baha’i citizen was presented with a bail requirement following her appearance at the Isfahan Revolutionary Prosecution Office and the formal presentation of charges. Insisting that she had committed no crime, she refused to post bail and was subsequently detained in protest.
Information regarding the specific charges brought against Elham Khalas, the required bail amount, and the judicial branch handling her case has not been made public to date.
With her arrest, the number of Baha’i women incarcerated in Isfahan’s Dowlatabad Prison has reached at least ten. Her detention comes amid escalating security and judicial pressure targeting Baha’i citizens residing in Isfahan over recent months.
Elham Khalas is married and the mother of two young children. Her husband, Navid Tashakkor, is also a Baha’i citizen who was arrested last year and is currently out on temporary bail.
