Police in Plovdiv seized more than 1.8 kilograms of jelly candies containing a psychoactive substance, along with more than a kilogram of marijuana, during a specialized drug operation, authorities said.
The operation was conducted Tuesday evening by officers from the Criminal Police Department with assistance from the Traffic Police. During the operation, officers identified a car in Plovdiv in which a 23-year-old man was suspected of involvement in illegal drug distribution.
Police searched the vehicle and the man's home, finding various items believed to be connected to the suspected drug activity. More than a kilogram of marijuana was seized, along with an electronic scale and a vacuum machine believed to have been used to divide the drugs into smaller packages.
Investigators also found approximately 10 grams of cocaine and 42 packages of jelly candies weighing more than 1.8 kilograms in total. Testing showed that the candies contained hexahydrocannabinol, a psychoactive substance.
A mobile phone and an amount of cash were also seized and included in the pre-trial investigation.
