Bulgaria's Finance Ministry is projecting a minimum monthly wage of €660 for 2027, an increase of about 6.5% from the current level, according to instructions issued to ministries, municipalities and state institutions for preparing next year's budgets.

The projected minimum wage is included in the ministry's instructions for the preparation and submission of draft budgets for 2027, as well as updated budget forecasts for 2028-2029.

The ministry's projections put the minimum wage at €680 in 2028 and €710 in 2029.

At the same time, the Finance Ministry expects the maximum social security income to rise to €2,400 in 2027, €2,500 in 2028 and €2,600 in 2029.

The proposed figures come as Bulgaria is preparing to introduce a new mechanism for determining the minimum wage. Parliament has decided to develop the new system, while the minimum wage is to remain at its 2026 level of €620 until the new mechanism is adopted.
