Flights between Vienna and Burgas will begin earlier than originally planned next year, with the change intended to give Eurovision visitors more travel options ahead of the song contest in the Bulgarian Black Sea city.
Burgas Airport said the flights operated by Austrian Airlines will start on May 8, 2027, three days before the Eurovision semifinals. The contest will take place in Burgas from May 11 to 15.
The earlier launch is expected to make it easier for Eurovision fans to reach the city and allow visitors to arrive several days before the main events.
Through Austrian Airlines' broader network, passengers will also be able to travel to Burgas from numerous destinations across Europe and other parts of the world with a single connection in Vienna.
The move is part of preparations for the expected increase in international visitors as Burgas hosts Eurovision 2027.
