Burgas has been selected as the host city for the 71st Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in May 2027 following Bulgaria's historic victory in this year's competition. The Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) announced the decision on Aug. 13, with the contest set to bring one of Europe's biggest television events to Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast.
The grand final will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2027, at Arena Burgas. The two semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, and Thursday, May 13.
Fans will also be able to attend six Preview Shows, scheduled between Monday, May 10, and Saturday, May 15. Ticket buyers will have to register as Eurofan to gain access to the sales, while further information about ticket availability will be announced in the coming months.
Burgas will host an extensive program alongside the televised competition, with details of the Eurovision Village, EuroClub and other cultural and entertainment events expected to be released in the coming weeks and months.
BNT said the ambition is for Eurovision 2027 to extend beyond Burgas and become a national event. Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, the other three cities that took part in the host selection process, will be involved in the accompanying program, recognizing the work and ideas they presented during the bidding procedure.
