A total of 229 combat engagements between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invaders were recorded on the front line over the past day, August 26, with the heaviest fighting taking place in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in a Facebook post on the battlefield situation as of 08:00 on Thursday, August 27.
The enemy carried out 88 airstrikes, dropping 294 guided aerial bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 11,150 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,288 shelling attacks, including 47 using multiple launch rocket systems.
Artillery strikes targeted the settlements of Vyntorivka, Korenok, Kondrativka, Korchakivka, Kruzhok, Bachivsk, Sopych, Atynske, Neskuchne, Volfyne, Bezsalivka, and Yastrubshchyna in the Sumy region.
Ukraine’s Air Force, missile forces and artillery struck nine command posts, seven clusters of Russian manpower, three artillery systems, 10 UAV control points and three other important Russian targets.
