Ukrainian forces have carried out an operation north of Kupiansk, squeezing the Russian bridgehead and making logistics more difficult for Russian forces attempting to infiltrate the city with small infantry groups.

Viktor Tregubov, Spokesperson for the Joint Forces Group, told Ukrinform.

Commenting on an August 25 report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) that Ukrainian forces had liberated the northern part of the village of Zapadne and advanced southwest of Dvorichna, north of Kupiansk, he said: “Yes, that happened. I’m sorry, but I won’t specify exactly when the operation was conducted, as there are operational security considerations.”

The Joint Forces Group Spokesperson added: “In fact, the Russian bridgehead north of Kupiansk has been squeezed, making logistics more difficult for their attempts to bring small infantry groups into the city.”
