Russian forces continue to intensify pressure on the Kupiansk and Kharkiv sectors, but the effectiveness of their offensive operations remains low despite attempts to achieve tangible results before the end of the summer campaign.

According to Ukrinform, this was stated during a television broadcast by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Task Force.

"They need to at least simulate the fulfillment of their objectives, which is why they are trying to finish the 'summer campaign' with some visible results. But if we assess the effectiveness of these attempts, it remains low," Trehubov said.

According to him, the situation remains difficult in several sectors within the Joint Forces Group's area of responsibility. Russian troops continue to pressure Ukrainian positions in the Kupiansk area and along the state border, attempting new incursions, including from the direction of Kozacha Lopan. Intense fighting is also continuing in the eastern part of the Sumy region.

"Around Vovchansk, the Russians are still trying to establish a large zone of control, but the problem for them is that they have not been able to fully seize the city itself. As for Kupiansk, they are actively trying to split the large Ukrainian bridgehead in two, while slowly advancing toward the city. Overall, they continue to apply systematic pressure on Kupiansk," the spokesperson said.
