Stuart Scharnick faces fresh firearm-related charges in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court.
Controversial businessman Stuart Scharnick appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on fresh firearm-related charges, with the matter postponed for a bail application next week.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed on Wednesday that the 40-year-old made his first appearance on charges stemming from alleged contraventions of the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000.
According to the NPA spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara., Scharnick faces two charges.
He is accused of contravening Section 120(10)(a) of the Act, which relates to allegedly giving possession of a firearm to a person who is not legally permitted to possess it.
