Kate Winslet will star in and executive produce The Unheard, a five-episode limited series written by Adolescence co-creator Jack Thorne.

From Warp Films, Brad Pitt’s Plan B and Matriarch Productions, the Netflix show will co-star Maxine Peake. The limited series tells the story of two sisters who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes wrong. As they are desperately pursued, audiences will ask the question: What pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?

The Unheard will be directed by Mounia Akl, with Winslet signed on as an executive producer alongside Mark Herbert and Emily Feller (Warp Films), Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham (Matriarch Productions), Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Nina Wolarksy (Plan B), as well as Thorne. Filming will kick off in 2027.

Winslet is an Oscar-winning actress best known for roles in Titanic, The Holiday, Heavenly Creatures, Revolutionary Road, and Sense and Sensibility. More recently, she has accrued critical acclaim for her role in HBO’s Mare of Easttown, and starred in Goodbye June, Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash.
