Winslet is tipped to front a new storyline, with the series currently in early development. The first season, released last year, explored the aftermath of a teenage girl's murder and issues surrounding the “manosphere” and toxic masculinity, winning nine Emmys. A report in MailOnline claimed Winslet has been in talks to star, with a source telling the publication “there’s excitement that Kate's on board”. The Independent has contacted her representative for comment. Any new installment is expected to focus on new characters while exploring similar themes.
