The ongoing tensions in West Asia has not dimmed the order inflow for Larsen & Toubro, with the company winning contracts worth over ₹50,000 crore across hydrocarbon, renewables, and transport segments from the region in a month.Its latest order, announced on Tuesday, deals with the development of three battery energy storage system (BESS) projects for “a notable client in the Middle East”. The contract is valued in the ₹5,000-10,000 crore range. The contract is the fifth order win by L&T in AugustIn addition to the storage facilities, “the scope of the packages also involves grid interconnections, including pooling substations and underground cables,” the company said.The three projects will collectively contribute to 6 GWh (gigawatt-hour) of storage capacity, marking one of the most impactful advancements in grid modernisation and renewable-energy integration across West Asia. This positions L&T as a key EPC player in the fast‑growing energy storage sector, too, it added.West Asia contributed 34 per cent to L&T’s revenue in FY26. As of March, 40 per cent of its ₹7.4-lakh crore order book came from the region.While the company saw slower revenue growth and cost escalations due to supply-chain disruptions in the first quarter, L&T has guided for continued business growth from the region.
