Mumbai: Welspun Corp Ltd has secured its largest single order worth ₹17,200 crore or $1.8 billion for supply of pipes from its US manufacturing facility, the company said on Friday. Its stock surged 15.08% to close at ₹2,306.40 on BSE on Friday.The order, to be executed in FY28-29, will significantly strengthen the company's order book and provide multi-year revenue visibility, the company said.The latest contract takes Welspun Corp's global order book to a record $4.4 billion, or about ₹42,100 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing.Pipes and building materials maker said the order strengthens its position in the North American energy infrastructure market and validates its investments in manufacturing capacity, technology and customer relationships in the region."North America has been a strategically important market for us, and we have continued to invest ahead of the curve to strengthen our manufacturing and technological capabilities in the region," said BK Goenka, chairman, Welspun World.Welspun Corp MD and CEO Vipul Mathur said the order size reflected the strength of its US manufacturing platform and customers' confidence in its ability to execute large and complex projects. "The North American energy infrastructure market continues to present significant opportunities, and our investments in capacity, technology and customer relationships have positioned us well to capture this growth," Mathur said.The company said the order is also in line with its strategy of establishing manufacturing capacity closer to customers and investing ahead of demand.Welspun Corp, the flagship firm of Welspun World, has manufacturing facilities in India, the US and Saudi Arabia and supplies products to customers across more than 50 countries. Its portfolio includes line pipes, ductile iron pipes, stainless steel products and TMT rebars.
