BAGUIO CITY — Heavy monsoon rains and rising turbidity in several spring sources have prompted the Baguio Water District (BWD) to call for stronger protection of watersheds that sustain the city’s water supply.

In a statement on Monday, Aug. 24, the BWD said several spring sources, including those in the Buyog and Busol watersheds and the Stage 1 and Amliang sources in Tuba, Benguet, recorded increased turbidity after weeks of continuous rainfall.
