BAGUIO CITY—Heavy rains dumped by the southwest monsoon or “habagat” toppled trees and triggered a landslide in the Magsaysay area on Saturday evening, prompting firefighters to conduct clearing operations and advise nearby residents to evacuate.

The incident happened along No. 8-B Private Road at 7:18 p.m., according to the Bureau of Fire Protection-Cordillera Administrative Region (BFP-CAR).

Baguio City Fire Station personnel used a chainsaw to cut and clear the toppled tree and other obstructions from the area.
