Liquor shops and bars in Tiruppur and Coimbatore districts will remain closed throughout Wednesday (August 26) in view of Milad-un-Nabi, a release said.The order applies to liquor shops (FL1) operated by the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), attached bars, recreation clubs (FL2) and licensed bars operating in hotels and restaurants (FL3). In Coimbatore, the dry day order covers all licensed liquor outlets, including FL1 shops and bars, FL2 bars, FL3 bars in star hotels, FL3A Tamil Nadu Hotels, FL3AA bars run through the Tourism Department and FL11 outlets selling imported foreign liquor.Action would be taken under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, against those selling liquor, illegally storing liquor or transporting it from one place to another in violation of the order, the release said.
