Dry day in Madurai on September 5

Madurai district administration has issued a directive to close all licensed liquor outlets on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi on September 5. This order covers all licensed Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) retail liquor shops and their attached bars (FL1/FL2/FL3/FL3A/FL3AA/FL4 and FL11), recreation clubs, bars attached to hotels and foreign liquor retails shops.

Also, officials have been instructed to monitor and ensure that no violations related to liquor sales occur on the said date.
