MANILA, Philippines — Former special disbursing officer (SDO) Gina Acosta will surely be arrested and jailed over her admissions during the impeachment trial, Bicol Saro party-list Rep. Terry Ridon believes, but he is also convinced that Vice President Sara Duterte should go with her.

On Monday, on the sidelines of the trial at the Senate, Ridon in an ambush interview said that the developments provided heavy evidence against Acosta since she admitted that she handed over the responsibility of disbursing confidential funds (CF) under the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to Army Col. Raymund Dante Lachica even if she knew that the latter was not a bonded officer.

Having Lachica disburse and implement the CF is a violation of Joint Circular No. 2015-01 which set guidelines on the proper use, liquidation, and auditing of secret funds, the prosecution panel for the impeachment trial believes.
