The City of Cape Town has approved the Municipal Planning By-law that wlll allow for the publication of notices of approval of building plans.
Gone are the days for the residents of Cape Town to know of the approval of a neighbours’ building plan when the building starts.
The City of Cape Town will now publish a notice of every building plan approval on its website.
This emerged after Thursday’s council meeting where the Municipal Planning Amendment Bill was approved.
The bylaw provided for new notification procedures, access rights for surrounding owners and other stakeholders, privacy protections, and administrative processes for publishing building plan approvals.
