The City of Cape Town has resolved to transfer of some parcels of land through sale and donation,
The City of Cape Town’s plans to dispose of several municipal-owned land parcels has drawn mixed reactions from political parties.
At a meeting on Thursday, Council decided in principle to dispose of portions of land in Pinelands and Thornton for an R80 million offer by Overrox Trading and another now used for informal vehicle trading in Stikland into a long distance bus terminus.
Other land parcels to be disposed of are in Constantia, Simonstown, Mandalay, Philippi, Seawinds, Hout Bay and other places.
There is also the donation of the Atlantis Thusong Centre to the Western Cape Government to provide for a public service point, office accommodation and continued access to South African Social Security Agency services.
