According to Telia Towers, the station will connect to satellites in Earth orbit and transmit their data to terrestrial data networks.

Modern ground stations have become a pivotal part of the global communications infrastructure in recent times. Telia notes that its station in Pyhäjärvi supports this development by providing an important northern connection point between satellites and terrestrial networks.
